Emerg is a four-piece alt-rock band from St. Catharines, Ontario, with more days ahead than behind. Each member is still under 21, bringing a sense of urgency and ambition that fuels their sound and rapid rise. The band has already earned headline coverage in their local newspaper and international recognition from CLASH Magazine in the UK, signaling a reach that extends far beyond their hometown.
Drawing from the roots of Canadiana alt-rock, Emerg takes cues from bands like Big Wreck and the Matthew Good Band, while also channeling the raw, high-voltage energy of The Glorious Sons. Rather than leaning on influence alone, they push forward with a clear intent: to carve out a sound and legacy entirely their own.
In under a year, Emerg independently wrote, recorded, and released a full-length album (Anemoia – Vol II), an EP (Anemoia – Vol I), and two standalone singles—an output rarely matched by bands their age. Building on that momentum, the band is currently recording their sophomore record with Steve Kirstein of The Glorious Sons, marking a major step forward in both their sound and scope.
Their live momentum has been equally notable, with more than 30 performances in the past year, including three sold-out shows at 200-capacity venues. With an expanded touring schedule planned for 2025 and a fast-growing fanbase across Ontario, Emerg is quickly establishing itself as one of the most promising emerging acts in Canadian alt-rock.
